“Summer is ending,” I sighed. “Soon everything will be covered in snow. And here I am, still waiting for my ruby feathers to grow.”
“Cheer up!” Ladybug exclaimed. “Another year is ahead. And as Lady Luck would have it, I’m sure this one will be abundant with red!”
“In the meantime,” she offered, “let my blush reflect on your feathers, until yours grow in.”
Touched by her generosity, I wanted to repay her, but wasn’t sure where to begin.
And then I crafted a win-win: “Would you like to adorn my shoulder?” I bartered, “While I take you for a spin?”
