Branching Possibilities Collection: Laments of a Wise Apprentice

I wanted more nectar, so
I cast a spell from my wings
It bounced off the trees
And rustled the leaves
With luminous rings
Which frightened the bees
And warned nectar thieves

But soon the flowers grew fewer and fewer.
Somehow, with all the power I wield
I am left by myself
Alone in a field.
